Sadaka · صدقة · 善意Every label, a tree in the ground.

For every label Delibari processes, a contribution is set aside. The funds are paid quarterly to Earth Lungs Reforestation Foundation, via Greenspark, our impact infrastructure partner. A local cooperative plants mangroves on the coast of Kenya. We pay: the customer is never billed, the brand never invoiced.

A voluntary gift, offered quietly, without expecting anything in return.

一The idea

A tax we charge ourselves.

We run a logistics company. Logistics is not a neutral act: every label printed, every truck that rolls, every pallet that flies has weight. We can't pretend otherwise, and we don't want to buy ourselves a clear conscience.

Sadaka is simple. Every label printed on Delibari triggers, at the moment of payment, a ringfenced contribution to our impact account. Once a quarter, that account is wired to Greenspark, which routes the funds to Earth Lungs Reforestation Foundation to replant mangroves on the Kenyan coast.

It's not a donation from profits, because profits fluctuate. It's not a line added to invoices, because customers haven't consented to that. It's a cost of doing business, like rent and payroll, treated with the same seriousness. It's called sadaqah, the Arabic word for voluntary giving, because it describes the thing exactly.

01

Never billed to the customer

A label on Delibari costs what the carrier charges. The contribution comes out of our margin.

02

Never claimed as an offset

These trees aren't sold as carbon credits and aren't part of anyone's net-zero maths.

03

Paid quarterly, in public

Amount, country, hectares and the signed receipt from Earth Lungs are published every three months.

04

Not contingent on profit

If Delibari has a bad quarter, Sadaka still plants. It's a standing obligation.

二The path

From label to tree.

Four steps between a label printed on a Tuesday morning and a mangrove seedling in Mombasa.

  1. T-0

    A brand prints a label

Studio Yuzu, in Kyoto, ships a pair of leather boots to a customer in Lisbon and pays Delibari the platform fee on that label.

  2. T+0 s

    A contribution is ringfenced

A per-label contribution moves automatically from our operating account to a separate restricted account. Exact figures stay internal.

  3. T+90 d

    Quarterly wire to Greenspark

At the end of each quarter, the full balance of the restricted account is wired to Greenspark, which allocates it to its verified planting partners. We publish the signed receipt.

  4. T+120 d

    Seedlings go in the ground

Within four months, locally hired planters, mostly women from nearby villages, plant the seedlings. We receive GPS polygons and a per-site count.

三The impact

14 284 mangroves, and what they do.

We don't publish revenue or volume ratios. We publish what the trees are doing, where they're doing it, and who with.

Community-led replanting by Earth Lungs Reforestation Foundation. Restored mangroves provide nursery grounds for fish, stabilise the coastline against storms and sequester carbon roughly four times faster than dry forest. Every tree is planted by a local hire, paid a fair wage.

Shortlisted with Greenspark from its vetted planting foundations. It will be activated once the Kenyan site reaches steady state.

五The infrastructure

Routed through Greenspark.

We don't run an in-house impact team. Every euro is wired to Greenspark, an impact platform that verifies and disburses funds across a curated list of environmental partners. Their job is the part we would do badly: NGO due diligence, currency routing, impact verification, GPS polygons, survival audits, receipt chains. Ours is to earn the euros and ringfence them the moment they arrive.

We chose Greenspark after comparing three options. It was the only one that let us pick a single partner without selling us a portfolio of offsets. They took us seriously when we said: no carbon credits, no certificates.

六A short manifesto

This is not carbon offsetting.

We don't sell these trees.

Not to brands on the platform, not to any enterprise customer, not to a registry. They appear on no certificate and produce no credit.

We don't count them in our footprint.

Delibari's operational emissions are calculated separately, reduced where we can, and never offset with Sadaka's trees.

You can't claim them either.

Brands on Delibari can't use these trees in their ESG accounting. It's written into our terms.

“The planet doesn't need one more certificate. It needs more trees.”
